Wedding Celebrant Services
I offer fully personalised, celebrant-led wedding ceremonies and wedding vow renewals, created with care, warmth and attention to every detail. Below you’ll find more information about what a celebrant-led ceremony involves, how we’ll work together, and the costs involved.
Everything you have always wanted it to be.
I will craft for you both a wedding ceremony or vow renewal that you will remember forever. My script will share your journey so far, and how much you love one another and the lives you live together today.
Are there any restrictions on the venue – a big NO! What you might need though, is permission from the owner of a location, and if you wish to have your pets attend, then you’d need to ask them about that too;
Please also remember that if your wedding is solely celebrant led, then we don’t need to have a venue with a wedding license;
Can you have your ceremony on top of a big hill – yes of course you can!
Can we have a theme for our wedding and invite our guests to join in? – absolutely.
I hope this provides some examples and maybe some initial ideas, of how much flexibility you have in planning this beautiful wedding or vow renewal.
It will be great to talk with you both about your ideas and plans, and there will be many opportunities to keep our conversations going.
Celebrant-led ceremonies offer complete flexibility
One of the most beautiful parts about a celebrant led wedding or vow renewal, is that it really does create an amazing blank canvas which you can decorate with your content, your wishes and your ideas, some of which you might at first thought would not be possible.
Let me share some examples with you;
If one or both of you have horses and would love to arrive on horseback, that would be amazing; you would need to make your arrangements for this and have the right people there to look after your horses, but don’t let that stop you;
If you wanted your dogs or cats or iguanas to attend, that that would be wonderful too.
What Happens Next?
-
You may wish to meet with me before you decide to book me, we could do this in person or online. This is a great opportunity for us to meet each other and have a chat about who we all are. When you are exploring a celebrant led ceremony, it’s important that the celebrant you proceed with is a person you feel comfortable with and who you can talk to. For you and I, I hope this will be the start of a very lovely and exciting journey together.
-
If you do book me, then that will be brilliant. I will do all I can to support, guide, advise and celebrate with you both. Questions are important, so ask as many as you wish and I will look forward to all our meetings together.
-
We’ll then start to plan our next steps. We will have a booking meeting – I’ll provide you with a contract which will outline my responsibility to you and your responsibility to me.
At the time of the booking meeting, a non-refundable deposit of £150 commits me to write and deliver your wedding ceremony or your vow renewal, and I will not take any further bookings for that date. -
Then we’ll have a second meeting where we will talk about the actual content of your ceremony and about how you met, where you got engaged, the proposal and so much more besides. Before this meeting though, I will share with you both a questionnaire that will help you structure everything and which will then be the basis of our meeting.
-
If you wish, I will share the ceremony script with you before your wedding or vow renewal or you might just want to hear it for the first time on your big day. We can talk all about this nearer the time.
Important legal information
Your wedding ceremony only
Wedding celebrants cannot currently bind couples in a legal marriage as part of the ceremony.
If you would like a registrar to attend on the day to complete the legal requirements, you will need to make this arrangement directly. When you tell them about the celebrant led ceremony they may choose to attend on that date and then the ceremony and registration can all happen at the same time. If a registrar does attend on the day, then you will need a venue with a license, which is a requirement for registration.
Sometimes, you might wish to attend a registry office in the days before your ceremony to complete your registration and be “legally married” but then have the amazing and wonderful wedding ceremony that we will plan.
