A meaningful ceremony, created with compassion and care
Personal funeral ceremonies and celebrations of life that respectfully reflect the story, values and life of the person who has died.
Why Choose Me?
The heart behind my work
A calm, compassionate presence before, during and after the ceremony.
A funeral ceremony should feel deeply personal, beautifully crafted and entirely centred around the person who has died. Every word, every moment and every detail will be thoughtfully designed to reflect their story, values, history and the life they led.
From our first conversation to the moment you arrive for the ceremony, and throughout the days and weeks that follow, I will support you with care, professionalism and compassion.
Listening deeply, truly hearing people and treating everyone with dignity and respect have always been central to who I am.
It would be an honour to be your funeral celebrant. I would welcome the opportunity to arrange an informal conversation, hear about your loved one and discuss any plans you may already have.

The loss of a baby or child at any age is profound. It is heartbreaking, tragic, and traumatic. Nothing anyone can say or do can ever take you back to the time before your child died, but we can support you through this extremely difficult and sad time. In creating the funeral for a baby or child, I will do all I can to support and guide you, and to work alongside you in creating a ceremony so beautiful which reflects the life they lived and the joy and happiness they brought with them. There will be so much to talk about, once you are ready. When you are, I will be there for you and with you in the days up to the funeral, the day of the funeral and the days or weeks afterwards. If you have brothers or sisters of the child that has died, you might like to consider including them in some or all of the ceremony planning. Many people feel anxious about this, and that is completely understandable; I will help you all I can when the time comes to make these decisions, and of course, I will respect whatever decision you make.
Sensitive support and a beautiful ceremony reflecting the child’s life, joy and place within their family.

Part of my role as an independent celebrant is the creation and delivery of adult funerals, which can take place at a crematorium or other location, followed then by either cremation or burial. Your funeral director is pivotal in arranging the actual details and location of the funeral, whereas I shall focus on the ceremony content. The content of a funeral ceremony can be many things to many people. You may want a traditional funeral with prayers and music and guests wearing black or dark colours, and that is completely your decision and one that will ensure our planning revolves around. Other approaches to funeral ceremonies might include bright colours, no black, lots of music, maybe some dancing, or any content that reflects the life of your loved one. The key point here is that the funeral ceremony will be all about your loved one and will be individualised to them.
A ceremony at a crematorium or another location, with content that is individual to the person who has died.

A gentle and uplifting occasion that celebrates the life of a baby or child and the love, joy and precious memories they brought to those around them. It can be held at a meaningful time and in a place that feels special to the family.

There are opportunities now for families to select unattended direct cremations which do not have a funeral service. If families choose this, or their loved ones did before they died, then celebrations of life are wonderful ways to all get together and create an event, just without their loved one’s coffin being there. Sometimes the celebration of life can take place on the same day as the cremation, but not at the same location. Perhaps the celebration of life might take place on their loved one’s first birthday following their death. There are so many ways to make this a poignant and beautiful ceremony and this is an opportunity to explore and include so much that reflects their life.
A personal and uplifting occasion that brings family and friends together to remember and celebrate your loved one. It can include the stories, music and memories that made their life unique.

This is an occasion in two parts.
Firstly, the celebration will take place with the person who is nearing the end of their life being present. They will be the focus (if that’s what they want) and the content can be as varied and individual as the person themselves.
The second part of this occasion will be the funeral. When the time comes to plan the funeral with me, I will already have a lot of content and information, from when we planned their celebration of living life. We will move forward with planning the funeral service and now you will also have a funeral director working with you as well.
Enabling someone through a celebration of living life event, also provides them with the opportunity to plan their funeral service content, if that is something they would like to do. When the day of the funeral arrives, knowing that their loved one had a big part in the planning, can be very comforting and reassuring; not just at the time of the funeral, but in the days and weeks that follow as well.
The celebration of living life for a child; perhaps this would be a brilliant way to include their friends from school, alongside other children in their family. A wonderful way to say bye bye without actually saying those words. The child might also invite specific people from outside of their family or friends. They could invite their consultant and nurses, their school teachers, their neighbours and so many other different people who are all very important to the child and their family.
Everyone would come together to share their love for the child and their family with their own memories and stories to tell. If a child was unable to leave their home, hospital or hospice, it would be a great opportunity to connect with people to see how we could make this happen, wherever they are.
The celebration of living life for an adult, imagine how important it might be for the person who is dying, if they could mend bridges, build new ones or have one more conversation with someone? Maybe they want to have the last word, maybe they just want to see everyone have some fun and time together, one last time. The key point here is that they can choose to do this, and plan the content.
For either celebration, my role would be to create a memorable event on behalf of someone, with time spent with family and friends, as well as the person that will be celebrated. It can be flamboyant or calm, it can be bright and crazy and maybe a bit messy, but more importantly, it’s about creating a time, space and a place for this emotion and experience to take place.
I will meet the family member with their family and we will talk and plan and give ourselves plenty of time without rushing, to create one more beautiful memory.
A two-part service that allows someone nearing the end of their life to be present for a celebration of their life and, if they wish, help plan their funeral. It offers family and friends an opportunity to share memories and create one more beautiful experience together.

These ceremonies are more formal and have a deeper reflective style than celebrations of life, which in comparison, can be loud, bright and celebratory in style. The memory of your loved one will still be the essence that flows through the memorial ceremony and it may be an event with a more formal structure, and in a more formal location. You may choose to have a memorial service at any point following the death of your loved one, and we would work together to create a ceremony space that could be timeless and reverent and respectful, in a more understated way.
A thoughtful and reflective ceremony offering family and friends a meaningful opportunity to remember, honour and celebrate the life of their loved one.

If your loved one has been cremated, your funeral director will inform you when they have received their cremated remains.
You have time now, as much as you need, to think about what happens next.
You might not want to do anything at this point, and that is absolutely fine.
You might just want to have them home with you, again, perfect, if that is what you’d like to do.
Some families will already know what their loved one’s wishes are, and so this makes the discussion easier in some ways.
If you would like to either intern or scatter their ashes, we can plan to do this when the time feels right for you.
A personal ceremony for the interment or scattering of your loved one’s cremated remains, planned for a time and place that feels right for you and your family.
